The science of higher education is a new science in our country, yet it is in the under-developed phase in contrast with other humane studies and social sciences. The science of higher education has been established as a speciality of postgraduate education. Postgraduate education is the highest level of higher education and it is of the most importance among all levels of education in our country, its development will deeply influence other levels of education, for research characterized postgraduate education decides the whole ability of scientific research and innovation of our country. The progress of postgraduate education depends greatly on the courses offered, to establish a set of reasonable and scientific curricula will ensure success. During the past twenty years ,the speciality of higher education has got great progress: the scale of enrolment has been greatly expanded; the curricular system is getting rational; the employed who worked in this field is increasing year by year, and their whole character is also increasing continuously; Related scholarship periodical category diversifies greatly, and the essays that has been published is more and more, they has achieved great successes; we have also trained so many famous specialists and scholars in the field of higher education who are working on every front of endeavor. Yet, there are so many issues exposed in the speciality of postgraduate education ,for example, with the expansion of the enrolment scale, the quality of the postgraduate is getting more query, the curricular system is obsolete. The importance of the curricular study makes it attracts more attention. The curricular system was formed in the beginning of the establishment of this speciality, so it is hard to avoid that it will not able to be competent to the development of the speciality and the science of higher education, the main issues include: the existing curricular system attaches more importance to book learning and belittles the study of methodology; the content of the curriculum is duplicated and out-of-date; the structure of the curricula is irrational; the curricular system is excessively specialized; and so on.The research-oriented curriculum is what we are working hard to realize, and it is also the requirement of the speciality of higher education, in that it breaks the limitations of the traditional curricula. The research-oriented curriculum is based on the characteristics of the graduate students and draws on some main conceptions on curriculum which have a great influence during the history of the research on curriculum; it will centre on the development of the graduate students' understanding and creative power to improve the graduate students'whole character.
