In recent years, with the university continue to expand enrollment,postgraduate groups are also getting become huge. But after they aregraduated from college they can’t find a satisfied job also with the low pay.During university the speciality learning has important significance for thefuture employment, and the speciality identity of postgraduate will greatlyaffect the speciality knowledge. Speciality identity is an important branch ofidentity, with identity features, but it has its own particularity. Socialconstructivism think that “identity” is not only the transformation of innerthinking, and also has social interaction factors. The " speciality identity" isattitude for own speciality and is reflected in value.In this study, we choose the full-time postgraduate as the subjects. Usingqualitative study methods to discusses the characteristics and influence offull-time postgraduate student speciality identity factors, and to find thedevelopment process of speciality identity. The purpose of the study is torealize the status of the full-time postgraduate speciality identity, and hope toprovide some strategic thinking for universities or related educationdepartment in the aspect of improving postgraduate speciality quality, toimprove graduate education.The study sample selection based on convenience sampling and stratifiedsampling methods. Select a variety of full-time speciality postgraduate assubjects. According to the data analysis, and finally draw the followingconclusions:1. Postgraduate speciality identity has process, it is a process ofgradually increase, present diversity and uniqueness at the influence ofdifferent times and different events 2. Postgraduate has different dimensions, according to its characteristicsthat the speciality identity can be divided into cognitive leading specialityidentity, emotionl leading speciality identity, act leading speciality identityand value leading speciality identity.3. The factors of influencing postgraduate speciality identity can bedivided into personal factors,others factors, school factors and social factors.4. The development of postgraduate speciality identity generally hasthree stages and four period, the first stage of the expected period, the secondstage of confusion and adjustment’s period, the third stage of the specialityperiod.5. Different specialities’s postgraduate in the dimensions of specialityidentity have different performance: the tendency for arts postgraduatespeciality identity is cognition leading and emotion leading, the tendency forscience and engineering postgraduate speciality identity is act leading, thetendency for medical postgraduate speciality identity is value leading.
