A Research On Social Support System Of Peasant Workers

Peasant workers have been one group of disadvantaged population because of the different institution arrange between urban and rural areas and sharp changes in our society . The study on peasant workers' social support system is very important for maintaining social stability, promoting social economic coordinated development and setting up harmonious society.This paper proposes the structure characters of peasant workers' social support system and influence factor by qualitative analysis using some interviewing materials of peasant workers in Wuhan and some relevant documents. And then , it proposes the ideal composition of the structure of peasant workers' social support system.The whole paper is composed of six parts altogether. First part the introduction starts with the research theme, explaines some relevant problems about the theory of social supports.lt also narrates the meaning of this research , the thinking and method in details. Second part and third part analyse peasant workers' social support system from outside and inside separately. It proposes that the individual support based on blood relationship and geo- relation is the most important support subject, especially in financial affairs support and information support ; National government support with other non-governmental support of social forces form the outside social support system , and national government offeres the powerfullest supporting and direction of public opinion of morality and justice to peasant workers.The support of other non-governmental social forces has offered peasant workers social public space of urban lives, however, on the whole, the degree is relatively low that the outside support system is perceived and utilized.The fourth part on the foundations of second and third part , proposes the characters of the whole social support system : the total amount of supports is increasing ,but depending on mainly cohesive, unofficial and inborn nature supports; Outside support system offers morality and justice greater than substantive tool support; Peasant workers are in passive status and lack subject consciousness and initiative consciousness; Peasant workers lack spirit support.Part five analyses factors influencing peasant workers' social support system from individual and the society respectively . The individual factors includes the gender, schooling degree , economic income and individual characters . Social factors includes mainly the influence of traditional interpersonal relationships mode and interests district cutting by institution arrange .Finally, the text proposes two suggestions :The government should play the leading role in peasant workers' social support system ; various kinds of forces should be integrated to build the public space of peasant workers' social support system.
