| How you interpret the role of children is an essential part of educational view with profound influence, which is to say that how you practice educating depends much on how you see people. We educate children, so the aim, content and methodology of the education differ with different views of children. In this sense it is imperative to clarify questions like"What is Children","How to Interpret the Children in Schooling", to make objective judge on the temporary different types of educational view, and finally put forward the preference of educational view on the phase of basic education.The author has done an extended reading, analysis and comparative studies for preparing the thesis writing. It is consisted of three parts. The first part follows the history of western view of children and education, including the Medieval"Young Adult","White Board","Children-centered", and it has brief look on the development of view of children in Chinese history which shares some common point with western view. The second part mainly talks about how we interpret the concept of children, including children as an essential existence and its limitation, and put forward the view of children which we should hold. It also analyzes the reasonability of the teaching and discipline of children, and has a comment on the current different types of educational view. In the third part the author argues about what types of educational view we should hold in mind, including promoting the harmonious and sustainable development of children; focusing on classroom instruction; emphasizing the teaching of indirect knowledge; giving children proper freedom in schooling; highlighting the guiding function of teacher and using punishment in a proper way. |
