In order to meet the modern society's demand for education andtalented person, go out of the erroneous zone in reading teaching in elementary school language, realize the request of new curriculum standard in compulsory education, the elementary school language teaching world is positively initiating and constructing the new idea of independent reading teaching. The reading essence is the dialogue between reader and text, the reading teaching is the process of mutual connection and equal dialogue in student, teacher and text. Thus, independent reading teaching emphasizes on student's main body status in reading, and emphasizes on student's independent behavior way and the cognition characteristic in the reading process. In independent reading teaching classroom in the elementary school language, the student fully holds reading process, and is realizing the personalization reading, critical reading and creative reading.This article explained the concept and rationale of independent reading teaching briefly, and then proposed six strategies for implementing the independent reading teaching: One, stimulate independent reading interest; Two, pay attention to thought teaching and reading method teaching.; Three, open teaching process and encourage independent reading; Four, strengthen language training in class and extracurricular language practice; Five, develop group cooperation study; Six, choose and utilize the teaching media nimbly and reasonably.
