The reform of personnel system is the core of the internal management in university. It's one of the most important factors for compensation system reform. It possesses very important and realistic significance to research the reform of faculty compensation system for harmonizing wage relations, overcoming the equalitarianism of wage allocating, arousing the faculty's enthusiasm and creativity, strengthening continue development and ability of competition. The research for reform of faculty compensation system can mainly start from the following sections:The first part is about the relative theory .It mainly brings forward the relative theory foundation of compensation system, balance wage theory, agency by mandate theory, human resource theory, fire theory and so on. And it analyzes some factors, which effects on faculty compensation system from the internal's and the external's. Meanwhile, it brings forward several principles of faculty compensation system, as fairness, hortatory, frivolousness, economical efficiency and validity.The second part is about the history and actuality of the compensation system.It reviews the wage systems of university and college carried out before and after China's opening and reform policy, then points out the some problems for exist university wage system as following: One, the trend of equalitarianism phenomena restrains the faculty to enhance teaching and researching level. Second, to weaken the hortatory mechanism in compensation systems. Third, the mismatch of compensation system and system for appointment of posts restrains the function of human resource mechanism. Forth, to the examination system need to be perfected.The third part is about international compare and reference of the compensation system. After introducing, comparing and analyzing the faculty compensation system of America, France, German and India, it inspires as following: One, it need to adjust the income structure, enhance the research revenue ratio. Second, it needs strict recruit system, examination system and necessary selection system. Third, it would enhance the ratio of performance compensation, build up the scientific examination system.The forth part is about the reform strategy of faculty compensation system. First of all, to authorize universities and colleges to design their own compensation systems and set up the strategy policy controlled by the STATE. It also need to set up the flexible and individuated compensation system with the market principle, operated by university or college. Second, to enhance the basic wage level, strengthen the hortatory policy so that it could improve the compensation structure, embody the scientificalness, diversity and hortatory function. Third, it perfects the compensation system on the based of position and performance. To build up the selection system so that it could perfect the examination system. After that, it could provide the scientific evaluation reference for compensation system. Finally, it should perfect types of welfare with pointed and flexible function, enabling it could stimulate the faculty's potential ability.
