With the ongoing reform of mathematics curriculum, the application of information technology becomes an urgent problem in the problem-solving teaching of mathematics. Basing on the need of the mathematics curriculum reform, this research incorporate information technology to the problem-solving teaching of mathematics to offer reference for the implementation of the new mathematics curriculum. This paper analyzes the meaning of problem-solving and the characteristic of the problem-solving teaching. It point out the problems in the practice of the problem-solving teaching, probe into the support of information technology. On the basis of the information technology support to the mathematics teaching, the author sets up the problem-solving model for junior maths according to modern teaching theories, the problem-solving concept and the contents of the third stage (7-9 grades) in the Mathematics Curriculum Standard of Full Time Compulsory Education. In the model, information technology merges into the mathematics teaching as the tools of creating environment, expressing questions, exploring, communication and evaluation. Moreover, the author develops the teaching practice based on the model and tests further the value of the model in the mathematics teaching.
