With the ongoing reform of curriculum in the basic education and the development of the new curriculum of junior physics, it has become an urgent problem that how to stimulate students' interest and initiative to study and to improve their abilities of science inquiry thus reflect the notion of Physics Curriculum Standards. This paper is based on the need of the physics curriculum reform and regards the inquiry teaching as the effective way to the new curriculum. Through research on inquiry teaching model for junior physics in the information technology environment, this paper aims to integrate information technology into inquiry teaching and to offer a favorable way for implementation of the new junior physics curriculum. Besides a concise analysis of the meaning of science inquiry, this paper completes a preliminary summary of the research into Physics Curriculum Standards in three aspects--the objective, the content and the way of learning. Through summarizing and classifying the contents in Physics Curriculum Standards that are fit for inquiry teaching, this paper presents two ways --Experiment Inquiry and Thematic Inquiry and sums up the problems in the practice. Then it integrates the information technology into the physics inquiry teaching, and puts forward the physics Experiment Inquiry teaching model and Thematic Inquiry teaching model in IT environment, and evaluates their effectiveness through teaching case design and practice.
