Through qualitative interview, survey, and spot observing, this research investigates the current situation of rural children's education in town A, HuNan province to find out its problems and the reasons, and put forwards five suggestions.This research does investigations on the circumstances, facilities, services and education of 19 preschool classes attached to primary school and 11 kindergartners in 8 villages in town A, interviews with 24 persons concerned including teachers, children, parents, headmasters and basic-level education administers, using the survey questionnaire and interview outline drawing up based on the preschool education policies and rules. The research result is:1. The rural children's education in town A is in an awkward predicament: its essential conditions cannot be guaranteed, its basic functions cannot achieve.2. The causes forming the predicament are: (1)The evaluation of children's education is not fully realized. (2)The fund for rural children's education is short seriously. (3)The policy and rules of the rural children's education are imperfect. (4)The duties of administration at different levels are not clear, so the management for rural children's education is very confusion. (5) The treatment of the kindergarten teachers in rural areas is unfair, so that many teachers are not fully qualified for this work.Some suggestions are given in this thesis in view of above analyses: (1) More attention should be paid to the development of rural children's education.
