The self-monitoring of study is a process that students regard one's own learning process as the target to carry on planning, monitoring, checking, evaluating, reflecting, controlling, adjusting in order to achieve learning purpose. On the basis of previous studies, scale of self-monitoring for middle school students' in physics learning was developed by means of survey and interview, according to the characteristics of physics subject. It was composed of 53 items and 8 factors such as directing, planning, monitoring, adjusting, executing, testing, complementing and reflecting. The results of reliability analysis show that the scale has good reliability with the test, re-test reliability and internal reliability at 0.94 levels. The scale also has good validity from the analysis of the scale's constuct validity. The scale was used to study the development, the influence factors of the self-monitoring learning ability and the correlation between the Self-regulated ability in physics learning and the physics achievement of the high school students. The result show:There are significant differences on self-monitoring and it's dimension such as directing, planning, monitoring, testing and reflecting in grades. In the influence factors of the self-monitoring learning ability sex, motivation and attribution were researched. (1) There are significant differences on the self-monitoring ability in physics learning between boys and girls. Boy's self-monitoring ability and each dimension are superior to girls and reach significant level in general. The differences are different in each developmental stage of middle school students. (2) The correlation between learning goals and self-monitoring and each dimension are significant for middle school students. The negative correlation between achievement goals and self-monitoring and...
