Research On University Graduates Employment Market Model And Operation Mechanism

The employment of college graduates, once a bottleneck in the development of higher education, has a great influence on social development and social stability in such countries with imperfect market economy as India, Philippine, etc.After the increase of enrollment, the graduates employment in some colleges has dropped to about 50%. The employment problem has emerged during the development of China's higher education, which will become a barrier to the development of higher education and also be likely to have unfavorable effects on social stability if the construction of employment market for college graduates is ignored and if the employment model is not reformed to offer more employment opportunities. This thesis mainly explores the employment market model and its operation.Firstly, this thesis points out the problem, its research background and significance, and then analyzes the employment market model and its operation including the manpower capital theory, the western labor market division theory, the screening and supposing theory and the modern labor market theory. Secondly, based on the investigation and research on employment market model and operating mechanism of local government and colleges in Jiangsu, Shanghai, the Northwest, Jilin, etc., this thesis makes a contrastive and analytical investigation on the current situation of college graduates employment and, from the international point of view, draws a comparison between nations on graduates employment market model in the hope of producing some constructive suggestions in our country. Furthermore, this thesis divides the historical evolution of employment into three stages: the planning period, the transition period and the market period. On this basis, it further analyses the malpractice in the graduates employment market and college graduates' difficulties in obtaining jobs. Thirdly, taking Wuhan University of Technology as case analysis, it investigates the innovation of college graduates employment market model and its operating mechanism, which has prospective and guiding significance to college graduates employment in the popularized period. And fourthly, it proposes the counter-and-coordinated measures of constructing market specialized employment model and its operation for the policy-making and consultation of government department.
