In the 25th meeting of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee, Former State Councilor Chen Zhili pointed out that the main problems between China's graduate education and graduate education in the world is that our graduate students is lack of a strong ability to innovate. There is a wide gap in the training of graduate students in view of our overall quality of training graduate students between our country and advanced countries, the main training mechanism and the training model is relatively backward, lack of funding for postgraduate students and training the spirit of innovation and innovation ability. Since 2003, the Ministry of Education implemented the program "innovative graduate education program", which aims to establish a post-graduate research and innovation incentives and create an atmosphere of innovation, enhance our awareness of innovation, entrepreneurship and innovation abilities, its core is to improve the quality of postgraduate by training, innovation projects mainly funded in the university which have established graduate school. The Ministry of Education supports a number of innovative projects post-graduate education program through the project and The Ministry of Education has expanded the face of to support and add some new item types each year. Innovative graduate education program each year will support a number of innovative projects. Graduate innovation team is one of innovation program approved by the Ministry of Education in 2008 to support the graduate education program. Graduate innovation team is a new try on implement innovative team of graduate education, Graduate innovation team is innovative graduate education program of existing types of innovation projects, and Graduate innovation team can strengthen the innovation ability of graduate students in an important way.In this paper, through the research on team building of graduate innovation teams of Graduate School of Chongqing University, we discusses the concept of innovation and team features, categories. According to the research purposes, post-graduate innovative team can be divided into theory-based research team of graduate students and the development and application-based research team of graduate students. Graduate innovation teams carried out innovation activities by external conditions included an excellent academic environment for innovation and platform support, school policies to support and improve the incentive mechanism, a free and democratic atmosphere of the academic culture. Graduate innovative team can cultivate graduate students innovation team system with the principle of "integrated construction, support services, assessment evaluation, incentive and guide". The development of graduate students innovation teams obey the rules of innovation-oriented, goal-oriented, rules-oriented, support-oriented, high-level innovation-oriented, to develop and evolution postgraduate innovative team, and promote graduate students innovation team towards a higher level by self-control, self-management, innovation and development step by step. At the same time, this paper does the research on the team's driving force of how to train and strengthen the innovation capacity of innovative postgraduate teams. Graduate innovation team innovation to strengthen the capacity of post-graduate training has the advantage of more flexible, more quickly and efficiently; investment smaller, more graduate students benefit from the input; more continuity; wider radiation, the effects on more graduate students.
