Modern Chinese History course has become an important part of the history course in high school when our country begin to set up again Modern Chinese History course in high school stage in the beginning of 1990' s . With the depth of the reform of the senior high school history course, the history textbooks which were published by People Education Press have also been modificated many times in style or content. Combining the author' s teaching practice, according to idea of the new reform of basic education course , adopting the method of analysis and compare, the author did a preliminary research on the style, content, construction of the Modern Chinese History Textbooks which had been published since 1990' s by the People Education Press. The author discussed the character of each edition of textbooks .analysized the deficiency of the current textbooks. In the meantime, the author put forward to some proposal which include of compiling it in the form of subject, compiling it under the cooperation of our country and others, adjusting and fulfilling concerned contents .making the economic history become the basis of the development of politics and culture, adding reference bibliography, paying attention to the synthesis of the textbooks, and so on.
