Impoverished & particularly needy college students are a vital part in composing today's college students in institutions of higher education, thus cannot be neglected They are a special group with moderately great influence. In addition to the characteristics shared by all college students, they possess their unique manifestations of ideological behavior, which have profound effects on their own development. Therefore, we must strengthen the study and research in ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students, accurately grasp and scientifically analyze their manifestations of ideological behavior and the underlying causes, and find its proper solutions. This is of vital importance in effectively enhancing their ideological and political qualities and behavioral accomplishments so as to promote their healthy growth in becoming useful people. It also has profound meaning in advancing the whole effect of ideological and political education of college students, and implementing the principle that "Education is for the service of the people."This paper is based on this very angle. On the basis of using the existing accomplishments for reference, the author of this paper, under the guidance of the theory of Marxism, approached this issue from the demarcation and research of the impoverished & particularly needy college students and their ideological and political education, gave a comprehensive analysis of their manifestations of ideological behavior and the underlying causes, suggested some countermoves and measures in strengthening ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students in institutions of higher education. The whole paper consists of three chapters.Chapter one: The connotation and meaning of ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students in institutions ofhigher education. This chapter mainly gave the demarcation of impoverished & particularly needy college students, analyzed the causes of this phenomenon, discussed the connotation and features of ideological and political education of them, and explained the crucial meaning of ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students, providing some basic theories and materials for a deeper research.Chapter two: An analysis of the status quo of ideological behavior of impoverished & particularly needy college students in institutions of higher education. This chapter is the foothold and difficult point of the paper. The author in this chapter analyzed the manifestations of ideological behavior of impoverished & particularly needy college students in both positive and negative sides in the following aspects: political behavior, moral character, interpersonal communication, study, living situation, etc., and unearthed the underlying causes in themselves, education, and society in terms of their negative manifestations of ideological behavior, providing scientific foundation for the issue of how to strengthen ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students in institutions of higher education.Chapter three: Strengthening ideological and political education of impoverished & particularly needy college students feasibly in institutions of higher education.
