Teachers professionalization is the trend of the world teacher education development and the orientation of our country's teacher education reform. The phenomenon still exists that some become teachers directly without getting a teacher's certification though we have achieved some development in our teachers' education: teachers' professionalization is paid more attention by the whole society, especially the teachers in primary and middle schools; some systems about teachers' further education on professional knowledge has keen set up by the governments and their schools, and so forth. Therefore, it's significant to do further research on Chinese teachers' professionalization. In the research, theories from pedagogy, sociology and educational sociology are applied as well as historical research, document analysis and comparison. The main arguments of the essay are the following:First, this essay discusses some fundamental concepts. The understanding of teachers' professionalization is far from being accurate in China. For instance, teachers' education and teachers' training are often confused, so are profession and career. This may affect the reform of teachers' education and the development of teacher's professionalization. Geoff Whitty from the teachers' college in London University held in an international comparison research that at least half of the teachers in many countries believed that their educational reform had affected their sense of content to their work. In China, most primary and middle school teachers take a passive attitude toward our educational reform, because they only regard teaching as a fob to earn their bread. The reform brought them pressure. That's why few of them chose B as the answer to the multiple-choice problem: "Teaching is a . A, job B, profession C, cause"Second, the essay argues that our teachers' professionalization must be basedon the following: legal system of building teaching staff; the promotion of teachers' social position. This comes from the achievements we have obtained in recent years' educational reform.Third, the essay argues that the major goals of China's teachers' professionalization are: a, to strengthen teachers' professional consciousness; b, to further teachers' profession education in order to promote their quality; c, to vary teachers' training model: to join teaching, learning and research work together; d, to perfect the legal system of teachers' certification.Fourth, governments, schools and teachers all play an important role in the course of teachers' specialization. From the angle of government's duties, schools' responsibilities and teaxhers' seelf-consciousness this essay discusses the way to carry out our goals of teachers' specialization, especially the schools' responsibilitions (such as school-based teachers' training, school-based administrition research and so on.) and teachers' making educational experiments and summerizing their work to be a researcher, a creator, a educater.
