Humanitarianism was proposed as an ethic during the Renaissance and has been more and more developed and enriched since the 19th century. The articles adopted from foreign literature in Chinese Textbooks for high school students are abundant with humanitarian thoughts .As a teacher ofChinese, we should make an in-depth study on the articles in terms of theirhistorical background and social conditions to explore the positive factors in humanitarianism. Then we should educate the students with humanitarianism, guid them to respect for life and care for others, foster their healthy and perfect personality with the spirit of freedom, equality and fraternity.
