With the development of research of education theory, and education theory and education practice be separated each other, it makes that can not find a appropriate joint. At the same time, the question of teachers' profession status and teachers' professionalism development are important question that teacher education be faced up. The cognition of the meaning of teachers' professionalism development and the pathway of teachers' professionalism development is the precondition and foundation that improving level of teacher education. The author recognizes that school-based research is the pathway of promoting teachers' professionalism development, and points out the relation between them. The article includes three parts.In the part one ,the author describes the meaning and feature of school-base and school-based research, and thinks over the primary questions during the school-based research process.In the part two, the author points out the connotation of profession should at least include three ingredient : professional ideal and professional moral, professional authority, professional theory and professional ability. The following the author consider the core of teachers' professional development is the development of teachers' diathesis based on the analysis of teacher professionalism criteria. At last ,the author points out three pathways of teachers' professional development: teacher education, teacher reeducation ,education research.In the part three, the author analyses the relations of school-based research and teachers' professional development first, then the author point out: school-based research facilitates the change of teacher's theory being used; school-based research esteems teacher's subjectivity , it makes teachers be the self vocation practice master; school-based research renew and reconstruct the tradition mode of teachers' professional development through the change of teachers' daily life .At last in conclusion the author discusses the way of changing teacher education of our country.
