Gradation and progress method of teaching is a newly developed teaching experiment put forward and carried out in the 1990抯. In the past ten years, close attention has been paid to it. Proceeding from actual conditions, our school, No. 8 Middle School, began to engage in this experiment on the basis of learning from other schools?experience in 1993. Through the probe of about ten years, not only dose the theory of gradation and progress method of teaching tend to mature but also it is quite popular with the mass of the teachers and students during its practice in our school. As a young teacher, I have also plunged into the teaching experiment. Construct the Teaching Model of Gradation and Pro gress, Enhance Students?Mathematics Ability in an Overall Way was written in the light of my own practice. The article aims to 1) dissect some hidden factors according with law of teaching in a deep-going way and 2) mature and develop the theory of gradation and progress method of teaching through the serious summing-up of the results and experience achieved. Such a summing-up is essential to whether this teaching method can fully develop.
