With the establishment of socialist market economy in our country, the flow of talents has been an inevitable trend in the development of social progress. The mobility between teachers is increasing, of which the flow of teachers between urban and rural area has become the top concern of the public. This is not only an important guarantee to enhance the vigor of the school organization but an indispensible method to optimize the teachers'structure. However, this does not mean that the flow of teachers can be arbitrary, and it also does not demonstrate that the higher the rate of flow of teachers between urban and rural is, the better it will be. At present in China, the flow of teachers between urban and rural is still in the primary stage. It has not been managed in a regularized way, so various measures are tried now. Teachers as the main body of flow of teachers between the urban and rural area, mobility is significant to them, and thus it is worthwhile for us to do some research on it. This essay will analyze and interpret the flow of teachers between urban and rural area from the perspective of teachers' professional development in order to know how to make the flow of teachers more reasonable.Document analysis and interview method are adopted in this essay, and the city of Handan is the selected case of my research. The whole essay is divided into five parts:The first part is brief introduction, introducing the raising of this problem, the meaning of its research, the summary of documents and methods of research.The second part is definition and theoretical basis. This section will mainly clarify the related conceptions of flow of teachers between urban and rural area, and also introduce theoretical basis on it.The third part is to explain the influence on the teachers' professional development by flow of teachers between urban and rural area, from both positive and negative aspects. The fourth part is to analyze the present condition of flow of teachers between urban and rural area in China, taking the city of Handan as an example. In addition, the analysis is also made from the influential factors, forms and characteristics of flow between teachers.The fifth part is to introduce the strategies of promoting teachers' professional development. Five strategies are included in this essay: government put forward relevant policies to promote rational flow of teachers between urban and rural areas; establish the compensation mechanism of rural teachers outflow; attract teachers of high education to rural areas; create good working environment with teacher management primarily in encouragement; improve the level of management to promote teachers' full development.
