IITC(Integrating Information Technology into the Curriculum) is a focus of New Curriculum Reform in China and a trend in future development of education. It is urgent for our New Curriculum Reform to improve the teachers' abilities of IITC. There are two ways to improve their abilities. One is integration skills training for serving teachers, the other is for teacher students, whose training can be completed through the "IITC" course."IITC" is a special course, not only highlighting the "information", but also emphasizing the "integration", so it is unsuitable to use the "transfer-accept" mode for this course and very difficult to achieve the desired effectiveness of instruction. The development of network technology makes the network instruction being concerned by teachers and students gradually. WebQuest is a web-based inquiry instruction, which has a rich of network resources. challenging learning tasks and detailed learning processes to helps learners acquire knowledges and skills and develops the abilities of independent study and group cooperation. It reflects the characteristics of the infomationization instruction and applies to the "IITC" course.In this study, the author choosed the public course "Practice of IITC" to discuss the application of WebQuest in the instruction and it's effectiveness, and selected "Understanding of IITC" as the subject for WebQuest design and implementation, exploring how to develop the abilities of IITC of teacher students and how to improve their independent learning and group cooperation skills.This paper consisted of five chapters and introduced the ideas, processes and results of this study detailedly.Chapter one introduced the background, significance and research status at home and abroad of the study.Chapter two elaborated the concept of IITC and WebQuest and the theoretical basis for the study.Chapter three selected "Understanding of IITC" as the subject to conduct WebQuest instruction, including preceding analysis, WebQuest design and implementation.Chapter four investigated and analyzed the effectiveness of WebQuest instruction and then reflected the instruction processes.Chapter five summarized the study, pointed out the shortcomings and suggested the future prospects.
