| Block building is one of game that children favorite, spatial skill is an important part of the mathematical. A large number of studies have shown the characteristic of children’s block building and spatial skills, little studies show that block building is related to spatial skills. Based on these, this study investigates children’s stage of block building, the development of spatial skill, and the relation between them. Further, do intervention on children’s block building, and investigate the promotion of children’s block building stage can or not related to the promotion of spatial skills.65kindergarten children participated in study â… . Researcher investigates4to5years old children’s stage of block building play and the characteristic of their spatial skills, and the relationship between them. Researcher chooses30children whose block building stage is1-6.5, and they are randomly divided into two groups, then do imitation intervention on one group, do story context intervention on the other group, and compare the two different interventions. Study III is based on study â… and study â…¡, investigates relation between the promotion of block building stage and the advance of spatial skill. The conclusions are as follows:1.4to5year old children’s stage of block building is moving from levell to fevel2. The structure is moving from the2-d structure to the primary3-d structure, and there is no significant gender difference.2.4to5year old children’s spatial skill is at the middle level, and there is significant gender difference. Specifically, girls’space graphics and orientation recognition scores are higher than boys.3. Children’s block building stage is different, then their spatial skills score is significantly different.4.No matter imitation or storytelling context, children’s post-text scores are higher than the pretest scores. It tells that both methods can improve children’s stage of block building.5. After the intervention on block building, all of the four-to-five-year old children’s post-text scores are higher than the pretest scores. The promotion of children’s block building stage is related to the promotion of spatial skills, especially the group of story context. It shows that improving children’s stage of block building play can contribute significantly to their development of spatial skills, especially after the story context intervention. |
