A Research On Information Ordering Of BBS In Universities

BBS is an important platform for the network application in campus, but also the most popular space students' group discussion. In terms of the number of universities who have set up BBS and the number of the users from the campus, they have increased significantly in recent years. BBS of universities are generally welcomed by the teachers and students. They contain a large number of posts and participants, and perhaps they are polymeric and unexpected. Everyday, a lot of fresh content will appear in BBS. It reflects the ideological trends of the users timely, while, as a virtual community, it has the structures of a social network. Now, we are doing the research for the laws of BBS information. It has far-reaching significance to upgrade the level of management and grasp the spread of information.In recent years, extensive research is focusing on the public information platform, such as Wikipedia, blog groups. Mostly theories are based on the complex system theory, including the CAS theory. The study of complex systems has been further expanded to the study of complex social networks. It is noticeable that self-organization theory has been applied in the natural and social sciences. In view of previous research results, some points of the CAS theory and the self-organization will be applied in the new study in BBS platforms. With the characters of BBS, this paper will construct the framework of ordering research for university BBS. In the experimental part, this paper used the data from BBS of Nanjing University to confirm the ordered feature of this BBS which has operated of some years. Combined with its ordering mechanism, this paper summarized some rules of the information in the university BBS platform. These conclusions will enhance the ability to control and manage the platform and give the guidance to resource utilization.After all, this paper is divided into five chapters. Each chapter is as follows:Chapter 1, This chapter briefly introduces the background and significance of research, research content and goal, research technique and tools, and so on, finally summarized the whole arrangement of this article.Chapter 2, This chapter explains the concepts of BBS study, and emphasizes to introduce the four theories used later, including social network theory, self-organization theory, the long tail theory and network theory of community interaction. Then, it summarizes the related research progress of domestic and foreign.Chapter 3, on the basis of the theoretical research, this chapter proposes the research framework of ordering information, and generally contains three parts. First part is the ordering research of website macroscopical information. The second part is the ordering research of the information from discussion area. The third part is the ordering research of focused posts.Chapter 4, on the good basis Chapter 3, this chapter first introduces data sources of the empirical analysis and analysis procedure, and then uses the research framework of ordering information to analyze the BBS of Nanjing University. Finally it summarizes the laws of BBS platform. This chapter is also the key point of this article.Chapter 5, This chapter is a summary of this article, the prospects of research work are summarized, and some future research work are forecasted basing on the shortcomings that hoped to be dealt.
