Abstract/Summary:
The first part of the thesis expounds the research background of the development of leading open zones in Changchun, Jilin, and Tumen, and give an account of the importance of their constructions for Jilin Province. On August30, 2009, the Chinese State Council sanctioned the "China cooperation in Tumen River Area Development Planing Outline-to regard Changchun, Jilin, and Tumen as the leading open zones". As the first development of open areas along the border sanctioned by Chinese government, it not only provides opportunities for the development of Jilin Province, also contributed to the cooperation process of the international development in Tumen River Area and Northeast Asia. After that follow the discussion on the theories of population distribution, growth poles, industrial clusters, and population migration. Providing a preliminary understanding of related concepts of the thesis. Then comes to the analysis of the relevant literature for a better understanding of the present research results for the leading open zones which mainly based on industrial economy. So far, there is not much to show the specific researches on population. The second part of this thesis describes the establishment background, significance, strategic positioning and development goals of Changjitu. Pointing out that the industrial development direction of Changjitu mainly based on the primary industry, taking modern service industry as the principal part, developing the tertiary industry, carrying out international cooperation, and achieving industrial upgrading and structural adjustment. And then proposes the industrial development issues, such as lower levels of the industrial structure, irrational internal structure, and low correlation problems. The third part of the thesis gives the analysis on the current situation of the population. On terms of population, by 2010 the total population will reach 2723.4 million in the province. The total population of Changjitu will reach 1556.4 million. The population in Changjitu accounted for 57% of the total population of the province, birth 55% of the total population, death 51% of the total population. The data indicate that, there is 2184.1 million labor force population in Jilin Province, accounted for 80% of the total population, and the leading open zones of Changjitu has 721.4 million labor force population, accounted for 46% of total population in this area, labor force population in the leading open zones of Changjitu accounts for 33% of it in Jilin Province. From the point of view of employment population, the employment population in Changjitu face three major problems:First, new population born annually. Second, severe employment competition caused by migrants. Third, the difficulty of re-employment. Perspective on the current development, future development trend is the increasing employment, which has great impact on production and people's living standards. From the immediate realities and long-term interests, adhere to the unwavering policy of family planning, and have a good control on the population growth is fundamental for solving the employment problem. From the population migration point of view, by the end of 2010, floating population in Jilin Province reached 28.5 million, of which 21.3 million within the province, and 7.2 million in other provinces. The number of married women in the population was 8.7 million. The floating population in Changjitu population was 25 million, accounting for 88% of the population in Jilin Province. It is can be seen that most of the floating population was in Changjitu area of Jilin Province. The fourth part of this thesis introduces the relationship between industry and population in leading open zones of Changjitu. The data indicates that the total population of Changjitu accounted for 65% of the total population of Jilin Province, GDP 52% of Jilin Province, the primary industry 22% of Jilin Province, the secondary industry 56%, and the tertiary industry accounted for 58% of Jilin Province. The GDP of it accounted for 81% of the GDP of Jilin Province. It can be seen that the second industry of Changjitu is the fastest growing region, followed by the tertiary industry, and the slowest is the primary industry. In the future development, the primary industry should expedite development, based on the modern agriculture, supported by the secondary industry, vigorously develop the tertiary industry to address the employment and re-employment issues. The fifth part of the this thesis points out the problems of economic development in the leading open zones at current phase, such as the rapid population growth which affect people's living standards, and the contradiction between the increasing the labor force population and employment positions, and put forward countermeasures and recommendations for these issues in order to accelerate the harmonious development of population and economy in Changjitu and further promote the economic development of Jilin Province. Finally, a summation is made to generalize the thesis that the current development situation of Changjitu and the problems it confront, as well as the future development trends and the relevant countermeasures.
