| At present, secondary vocational education is attracting more and more attention. The State Council has promulgated a series of policies to promote vocational development by strengthening support and enlarging enrollment. However, with the increase of the quantity, the quality of vocational education is highly respected by many people. The primary factor of affecting the vocational education lies in the teachers. How to improve the quality of teachers is a new task, especially the professional teachers. What is the target of the determination of professional teachers? Therefore, this paper starts a research on the above issue. The study consists of four sections; the main contents of each part are as follows.1.Introduction. First of all, this section gives a brief summary about the background and significance of selected topic. In terms of the purpose of vocational education, the characteristics of vocational students and so on, it is necessary to have a deep research on the ability of vocational teachers. The research can provide certain reference concerning the teacher development and school management. Secondly, it defines the concepts related to the research. Thirdly, it illustrates the main research methods by literature research, critical event interview, investigation and so on.2.Summary of the research at home and abroad. The section includes discussions concerning the study of teacher's ability from domestic and overseas. There are various indicator names of capacity system including 2-8 grade 1 indicators, far-ranging scopes and perspectives at home. There also exist different indicator systems for teachers among the United States, Britain, Canada and other countries. The state and province have their own indicators, and related research organizations are more perfect.3.An empirical index analysis on the ability of secondary vocational teachers. The section gets the collection of indicators through literature research and critical events interview, and analyzes them to sort out the original indicators. By means of the original indicators, we make a questionnaire to obtain a large amount of original data, and then analyze them to extract the main factor and classify them in the same way. It is through factor analysis that we obtain the weight of each indicator. There are six key ability indicators including professional ethics, teaching preparedness, teaching implementation, technical expertise, quality development, physical and mental health.4.Indicator system specifications and applications. In order to test the truth of analysis results above, validity and reliability should be tested. The real data make the results reliable. In addition, the application of the indicator system also needs some improvement by adding a standard and scoring method, etc. The application of indicator system was given an introduction and description in Chapter 4, sectionâ…¡.In short, the study obtains the indicator project through taking extensive data collection, investigation and rigorous mathematical analysis. From a structural point of view, it basically and comprehensively reflects the abilities that professional teacher needs, but also its characteristics appropriately. Therefore, the study can be applied to self-appraisal, school management, performance evaluation and so on. |
