Exercises-oriented teaching is one of the most important parts in physics teaching. Low in efficiency, the traditional exercises-oriented teaching mode turns out to be quite out of date. Therefore, it is a matter of urgency to sharpen the students'competence as well as improve the exercise-oriented teaching method.Guided by the modern teaching concept and based on the problem-solving theory in cognitive psychology, this essay first discusses the characteristics of physics and exercises concerning physics, then analyzes the possible solutions to the relevant problems by applying cognitive strategy, and finally put forward the target strategy, namely, exercises-oriented teaching method based on problem-solving. In this way, the current teaching efficiency as well as the students'competence will be improved. The essay is divided into six parts as follows.Part one:introductionIt contains the author's understanding of New Curriculum Reform in physics, the function of exercises-oriented teaching and the great significance of this essay.Part two:surveyIt includes a survey on the current physics teaching by using questionnaire, observation and documents-reading.Part three presents relevant theories about problem-solving.Part four focuses on the characteristic of physics and cognitive strategy concerned.Part five centers on the characteristic of physics problems in exercises and cognitive strategy concerned.Part six involves the teaching strategy applied to exercises-oriented teaching method based on problem-solving in physics.
