Reading and writing are two closely related parts in language practice. The balanced development of reading and writing abilities has an important role in the formation of Chinese attainments.Therefore,the research and practice on the relativity between the two has always been a long-talked topic in Chinese teaching. The educators both at home and abroad have done much research into the combination of teaching both reading and writing for many years, and they have made some achievements.This paper points out that reading and writing instructions are divided and there is no interaction between the two in current practice of teaching the senior students in the primary schools.After the objective analysis of the current practice,this paper aims to explore the integrated training of Chinese reading and writing in teaching higher grades in primary schools based on the previous research.Meanwhile, it tries to form an effective strategy in the integrated training of reading and writing. The body of this paper includes 6 sections:The first chapter explains that according to the new curriculum and the characteristic of the information age,the balanced development of senior students'reading and writing abilities is required in primary schools.And this chapter also shows the significance of reading and writing together.The second chapter analyses the problems existing in the current Chinese teaching of reading and writing at higher grades in primary schools.It also explains why Chinese reading and writing can't be integrated in training to promote each other at higher grades in primary schools.The third chapter explains the theoretical and practical bases of the effective strategy of integrated reading and writing. And the integrated training of Chinese reading and writing at higher grades in primary schools should be under the guidance of Piaget's Constructivist Learning Theory, Gagne's'Information Processing'theory, the basic principles of the'Three theory'and the experiences in the teaching of reading and writing both at home and abroad.The fourth chapter defines the effective strategy of integrated reading and writing in Chinese at higher grades in primary schools,and explains the meaning of integrated reading and writing. It also sheds light on the positioning and implementation principles of the effective strategy of integrated reading and writing. The fifth chapter, the most important part in this paper, explores and refines practical and effective strategies of integrated reading and writing in Chinese teaching at higher grades in primary schools.It also explores three ways to improve students'ability of expression and effectively promote the practical approaches and strategies of integrated reading and writing. The three ways are as follows:1.demonstrate methods of reading in class teaching and help to form good habits of reading loud;2.search for the points where reading and writing can be combined in reading materials and transfer reading to writing;3.search for proper reading and writing sources by means of information technology and create writing situations.
