The Study On Social Change And Social Mobility Of Qingdao

Since1978, forced by the rapid reform-opening and the development of market economy, economic structure and industrial structure of Qingdao have undergone great changes and the urbanization process in Qingdao has achieved a span development, then social openness has increased significantly. Social mobility shows significant feature of social restructuring, which is an important form of social change, whose main dimension is occupational mobility. This article mainly using spss statistical method, embarks the occupational mobility of the residents in Qingdao, bases on the theory of social change and social mobility at home and abroad, analyses social mobility in Qingdao under the conditions of social change by using the investigation methods and literature study.This thesis consists of three parts:Chapter 1 is the introduction of the thesis. In this chapter, we describe five stages of the development of Social mobility in our country and propose the studying question. We describe the theories on social change, social mobility and social stratification, which are studied by foreign scholars, and then describe the relationship among the social mobility and social structure, social transformation, social change, education, those studied by the native scholars. Finally we point out the main viewpoint, methods and the significance of this thesis.Chapter 2 is the important part of the thesis. In this chapter, we describe the situation of social mobility in Qingdao since 1978. First of all, we explain the macro background of social mobility in Qingdao. On the macro level, social change, urbanization, industrial restructuring, marine development, distribution of social resources, and the development of culture and education have an important influence on the social mobility of Qingdao. Secondly, we view the status of social mobility in Qingdao, thinking that intergenerational mobility and intragenerational mobility have apparent features. The father's household, education and job play an important role in sub-state generation's lives. The sub-state generation is obviously distinct among the career choice, the job changing, the career changing and the income. Next, we analyze the micro causes on social mobility in Qingdao. On the micro level, education, residence and family background affect one's social mobility and promote the frequency of individual's social mobility. In addition, the survey finds that the gender plays an important role in the process of individual's social mobility. Men and women have an obvious difference in the job selection. This difference consists of mobility opportunities, promotion opportunities and compensation. Finally, we describe the subjective evaluation of social mobility in Qingdao, which contains the subjective satisfaction and the evaluation on social environment.Chapter 3 is the conclusion part of the thesis. In this chapter, we evaluate the social mobility in Qingdao, which showed obvious features on social transformation Since1978. The traits as follows:The social structure in Qingdao is in the period of major social change; The social mobility has tended to move up; The population increased from peasants to citizens with the rapid urbanization processing; It has a clear urban-rural dual structure; The education and education level have increased rapidly; The labor market is imperfect; The social security coverage is not extensive; The social injustice issues are outstanding; The gender inequalities are still existed The residents have not much more aware of social mobility. The Social mobility of Qingdao, is not only closely related to the social and economic developing, industry industrial restructuring, urbanization and the impact of the consequences brought by social changes, but also contacted to the process of social developing, the change of people's ideology and people's values.
