The issue of equal chances for higher education has a great impact on the overall development of education in China and the whole society. With the advancement of popularity of higher education, China higher education has great achievement. Despite of an increase of higher education enrollment making a successful transition for higher education from elite to popularity, imbalance of higher education development in urban and rural areas has increasingly emerged.The thesis adopts different ways such as literature searching, contrastive analysis and investigation method. The intention of the paper is to reveal the current situation and the problem existing of opportunity equality of higher educational entrance. Based on the analysis the author concludes the influencing factors. It is showed that, there are several adverse effects to the equality of higher educational entrance in China, such as the city and countryside dualistic structure, the discrepancy of domestic economic income, the differences of family culture between city and countryside, the enrollment system, the charging system of high education and so on. Through analysis the author points out that in recent years the entrance opportunity of higher education for students in countryside is increasing in general and at the same time we should realize the serious unequal situation. There are distinctions in different college levels, different college types, majors and gender roles. It is a negative signal and trend for the perspective of social justice and harmony.The study on differences of entrance opportunity for higher education in urban and rural areas will be vital and necessary to prevent the gap increase between the rich and the poor, to protect disadvantaged groups'interest, to realize equal education rights and to carry out the building of harmonious society.
