The research was based on the theories of teachers'professional development and teaching development under the new curriculum standards. First, the initial system of high school mathematics teachers' quality structure was condnded through questionnaires, classroom observation, interviews and visits of math teachers and the author's own teaching experience, the qualitative study was gotten. Then, inorder to get to know the high school mathematics teacher quality composition and its features, a survey was conducted using the questionnaires—The Questionnaire on high school math teacher quality structure under the new curriculum—which were answered by 150 high school math teachers across Hunan Province.The conclusions were drawn as follows:The structure of high school mathematics teacher quality can be divided into the general structure and specific structure which only belongs to the subject of mathematics. And the general structure can be divided into physical and mental structures (physical quality, psychological quality,political and ideological quality, professional ethics, personal training); knowledge structures (educational theory, professional knowledge, general cultural knowledge, conditional knowledge, practical knowledge), and competence structures(cognitive ability, teaching ability, communication and cooperation, lifelong learning, learning strength, creativity, communication skills and problem-solving ability,logical reasoning ability,computing ability, space imagination ability).The findings showed that current high school mathematics teachers still need optimize the overall quality structure and improve the personal quality structure. As for the existing problems in the quality structure of high school math teachers, some advice was given and some measures were proposed.
