With the highly develpoed mass media nowadays, Chinese education has to meet the requirement of information society development, to take systematic reforms on its traditional basis and incorporate new elements--- film and TV works. Making use of the library and Internet resources available, this thesis discusses the positive and negative influence and its causes according to Chinese teaching methodology, teaching psychology, film and TV art, and Communication studies. From the mistakes of the use of film ad TV material in current Chinese education, this thesis proposes to effect Chinese education from exploring future the practical and concrete methods from film and TV works. Through this analysis, it hopes to correct the recognition and use of film and TV works to enhance Chinese education efficiency, so as to improve students'comprehensive qualities for them to face a complex film and TV world rationally.This thesis consists of four parts. From the connotation and extension of film and TV, the first part defines the concept of film and TV works, i.e. all the existing forms of film and TV (including films, TV program, TV serials, TV advertisement and so on). The inevitable influence of film and TV works to Chinese education is also illustrated. The second part mainly discusses positive influence brought by film and TV works to Chinese education due to its vividness, fast reading, aesthetics, rich contents and reappearance of context and fine thought. The third part discusses the negative effect brought by poor film and TV works or the ill use of it to Chinese education, and briefly analyses the causes. Based upon the mistakes in the notion and use of film and TV works, the fourth part points out that film and TV works should be used appropriately to ensure effective teaching, and illustrates the necessity of the appropriate use of the works from the course, text book, teaching method, learning method. The specific methods practical in Chinese education are also explored as possible from practical perspective.The author holds that the charm of education in film and TV works should be brought to full use and integrated to learning resources construction and subject teaching in order to improve Chinese education efficiency.
