General Secretary Xi Jinping especially emphasized the important role of ideological and political courses and teachers of ideological and political theory at the school’s ideological and political theory course teachers’ symposium: ideological and political theory courses are the key courses to implement the fundamental task of moral education,and conduct ideological and political theory courses well.The key lies in the teachers,and the key is to give play to the enthusiasm,initiative,and creativity of the teachers.As teachers of ideological and political courses,we have the responsibility to contribute to the integrity and innovation of ideological and political courses.The use of film and television works in the Morality and Rule of Law classroom in junior high schools is a useful attempt to enrich the teaching of ideological and political courses in junior high schools.This article is guided by the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s series of speeches on ideological and political courses,using interview method,document method,case analysis method and experience summary method to conduct theoretical research on the application of film and television works in the classroom of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high schools.Besides,this paper sorts out the basis of the research on this subject and the research status at home and abroad.And combined with personal education and teaching practice,I formed some thoughts on the application value,application principles and strategies of film and television works in the junior high school Morality and Rule of Law classroom.The text is divided into four parts.The first part elaborates the application value of film and television works in the teaching of Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,including stimulating students’ interest in learning and improving learning efficiency;reproducing the knowledge of textbooks to promote students’ understanding;cultivating students’ sentiments and improving students’ quality.The second part summarizes and analyzes the principles that should be adhered to in the use of film and television works in the teaching of Morality and the Rule of Law in junior high schools,including the principle of purpose,the principle of times and the principle of finiteness.The use of film and television works should serve the teaching content and teaching goals,and it should be combined with the characteristics of the times,and be close to the spiritual core of contemporary students.Film and television works are tools to assist teaching,not the whole of the classroom.The third part discusses the ability requirements and specific strategies of using film and television works in Morality and Rule of Law in junior high school,including improving teachers’ ability to grasp teaching materials,strengthening teachers’ ability to use technology,cultivating teachers’ ability to appreciate film and television,and improving students’ own film and television literacy.In the fourth part,I shared my own teaching design using the documentary Life Matters and the main melody film Operation Red Sea in my teaching practice to provide references for teachers’ actual teaching.
