Since the decision of The State Concil on greatly promoting vocational education reform and development was issued, The Ministry of Education starts the project of teaching quality to improve the teaching quality totally and to realize to share the excellent natural resources all over the country. The projects of excellent courses construction of the higher vocational and technical college and the higher vocational training school is carried out like wildfire to answer and deepen the higher vocational education reform positively. Well-constructing the projects of the excellent courses of the higher vocational and techinal colleges is an important way to further improve the quality of higher professional talent training. But some questions in the process of excellent courses of higher vocationcal and technical colleges need to be solved badly. In this paper, a pattern of project management is introduced to the excellent courses construction of the field of the higher vocational and technical education, and by the idea of project manangement the limited teaching resources are allocated properly.We start this thesis from the necessity of excellent courses construction of the higher vocational and techinal colleges. In the course of collecting documents during the paper preparation we find some questions exiting in excellent courses construction. Basing on these questions and the theory of project life period, we research several subjects of excellent courses construction project in the form of phase, which are project approval management, planning management, execution process management, ending management and maintenance management. In this paper, an example of excellent courses construction project is set, which is from Jiangxi Vocational College of Mechanical and Electrical Technology. We discuss this example in detail which is composed of six concrete aspects namely curriculum settings, teaching content, teaching means and methods, teachers procession, practice teaching and teaching results. At the end of this paper, some problems are pointed out which need to be further resolved in the process of excellent courses construction project management of higher vocational and technical colleges, and also the methods for resolving the problems are raised.
