In the process of Chinese teaching and thinking, combined with language training can bring out the best in everyone. With the instrumentality and humanity, Chinese plays an irreplaceable role in developing students'thinking. Meanwhile, psychological studies indicate that senior high school students'brain mechanism has gradually come to maturity and thus a comparatively perfect structure of thinking has been formed. This structure is based on thinking in images and the abstract thinking. Creative thinking has developed at the same time. Therefore, Chinese must give full scope to the cultivation and development of students'thinking in the perspective of Chinese teaching itself or the demand of senior high school students'thinking development phase. However, classical poetry and Chinese takes a great part in the course of Chinese language. So it has a very important and practical significance to the development of students'thinking in Senior Middle School's Classic Poetry and Chinese teaching.In recent years, educational experts and teachers have taken the initiative by exploring and researching classical poetry and Chinese teaching, and they have achieved remarkable success. But as far as the writer's eyes can see, the documents about developing the thinking of classic poetry and Chinese are few. Some lack of theoretical basis only considering personal experiences. Some are limited to one lesson or one teaching method, with no grasp of it as a whole. Some are too general and have no idea of the characteristics of students'different phases. Some cannot be put into practice. As the strategy of Chinese teaching reformation is steadily put forward, more and more attention is gradually paid to developing the ability of thinking. But the cultivating of this ability is mostly focused on the training of writing and reading of modern Chinese prose rather than the area of classical poetry and Chinese.Thus, the writer applies many theories about cultivating Chinese thinking according to the results of previous researches and the essence of thinking in Chinese. To satisfy the demands of students'thinking at various stages, the writer analyzes and summarizes her and other teachers'teaching practice. In the perspective of developing students'ability, the writer studies the necessity, feasibility and process of developing the ability of Senior High School students'thinking in the teaching of classical poetry and Chinese (especially emphasize the importance of developing the thinking in image and abstract thinking and creative thinking ).The writer proposes the teaching strategy of Classic Poetry and Chinese for cultivating Senior High School students'ability of thinking. The paper is divided into three chapters as follows:In Chapter One, the writer starts with analyzing the actuality in the study of Senior Middle School's Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching and cultivation of students'thinking, from the perspective of Chinese-teaching itself and the developing demands of students'thinking at various stages. Then she expatiates upon the abundance yet un-utilized resources in Classic Poetry Teaching and cultivation of students'thinking, and put forward the main point and research meaning of this dissertation by aiming at the existing problems in teaching and the deficiency in the area of researching the cultivation of students'thinking in Senior Middle School's Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching.In Chapter Two, basing on the process of cultivating students'thinking in Chinese-teaching, which enriches the students'quality of language and humanity continuously on the one hand and teaches the students how to think correctly on the other, the writer tries to combine the development of both language and thinking, and discusses how to teach the students to achieve the targets of developing thinking and facilitating intelligence by forming favorable habits of thinking. The writer specifies the process of cultivating students'thinking into four steps: broadening the knowledge and life visual fields; motivating interest of thinking; mastering thinking methods and nurturing good thinking habits.Chapter Three is the emphasis of this paper. In order to cultivate students'thinking in Senior Middle School's Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching, the strategy should adapt to the cognitive level of the students'thinking development, keep to the rule of Chinese-teaching and consider the characteristics of Senior Middle School's Chinese textbooks as well. So, the writer dissertates such three aspects as"how to cultivate imaginal thinking in Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching","how to cultivate abstract thinking in Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching"and"how to cultivate creative thinking in Classic Poetry and Chinese Teaching", hoping to promote the development of students'thinking effectively.
