The Chinese ancient poetry is of great value to Chinese culture. Therefore, the ability to appreciate the classic poetry emerges as an basic element in Chinese teaching. The New Curriculum sets a clear goal for teaching poetry in senior high school. Both College Entrance Examination and the Instruction for it also point out the direction in which teachers should go. However, as a matter of fact, there are a number of problems lie in teaching. With examples from Poetry from Tong and Song Dynasty, this article aims at analyzing the teachers initiation to improve the efficiency in lecturing the poetry in traditional Chinese class. Teachers are supposed to divide teaching poetry into different sections according to artistic skills, analysis of words formation, appreciation of images and recognition of emotions. Meanwhile, setting fundamental, expansive, feedback part in each section. The ultimate goal is to help students fully understand classic poetry and grasp the way to appreciate these poems, thus improving learning efficiency in Chinese classic poetry. |
