Reading is the main style to acquire knowledge, and outside reading is the important way to foster the reading ability. Outside reading can not only increase the people's knowledge, develop their moral character, but act on the foster of the world's view of the student. The era of middle school is the people's golden times of reading, in this times, student has the vigorous desire to seek knowledge and better ability to learn , and their value sense,outlook on life gradually mature. Reading help the student know the world and understand the world, think about selves and promote selves. Outside reading can also foster their habit of lifelong learning. Science and technology is progressing with each passing day in contemporary society, so only by lifelong learning can we keep up with the time and meet the needs of the community.The thesis combines the investigation facts of the four middle schools in NanChang and the interviews of the teachers and students,examines the six aspects, including the time management of the middle school student's outside reading, the students, parents and teachers'attitude to the outside reading, the guide of the teacher for the outside reading, how the students utilize the library to read, the manners and habits of the middle school student's outside reading ,and the middle school student's choice of the Bibliographic. We can find the bondage of the exam education,The influence of the existing reading instruction and the reading psychological problems of the middle school students which are the major causes of inefficiencies of the middle school student's outside reading.The conditions development and the efficiency improvement of the middle school student's outside reading need a great diversity of joint effort, the thesis puts forward some measures and suggestions for it on the investigation and study. First, we should construct better outside environment for the middle school students' outside reading, elaborate the social media's main current direction to guide the middle school students' outside reading correctly, and offer more healthy and profitable works; mobilize the parents and the residential quarters to participate in it vigorously; make the most of library, help the middle school students to build better outside reading site; secondly the direction of outside reading should be strengthened in school. The teacher might recommend healthy and profitable works ,carry out scientific and profitable tactics of reading direction, combine the outside reading with the classroom reading, launch rich and colorful outside reading activities, stir up the students' interests of outside reading, form their good habits in reading and let them grasp some reading methods, develop their reading ability, on the same time , We should attach importance to the self experience of the students, develop their imaginative power and creative power; the third , the middle school students should be encouraged to strengthen their own reading accomplishment. I wish that by the joint effort of the society,school,library and students , we can help the student go out of the classroom, trend the society, head for the practice. The middle school students should gradually grasp the reading methods, be interested in reading and be pleased in reading.
