The development of higher education has promoted the reform in classroom teaching at the university level, and the reform has brought about the use of multimedia teaching tools. The multimedia not only is the interactive and communicative tools for people, but also is the effective means for teaching. In recent years, the multimedia classroom teaching at the college level in our country has made the much progress. As the reform in classroom teaching has been deepened, the multimedia teaching must meet the higher demands. Currently, there is a commen problem in universities that is"spending more time, but having less effective results". There is no match between efforts and teaching effectiveness, and the teaching objectives have not been achieved. Therefore, there is a wide need to improve the quality of the multimedia teaching in universities, and there is no time to wait the reform in the teaching.As to the teacher abilities and performance in multimedia teaching, students attitudes and behviors, the teacher-students interactions in classroom, the quality of multimedia coursewares, the classroom environment, and teaching effectivenees, the author has conducted a study. This study used the method of questionnaire to ask 300 students from three universities in Liaoning province. At the same time, this study also performed the interviews and classroom observations. Through the analysis of the research findings, the author has summarized the weaknesses which exist in the university multimedia teaching and analysed emphasis and the difficulties in the teaching. In order to improve the multimedia teahing in universities, this study has provided some countermeasures and suggestions which can be operated in practice.
