Public servants' job performance plays an important part in the efficiency of government. At the same time, it affects the image of government and the trust of public. How to select the civil servants who can create great job performance? Government is paying more attention to the question. The middle-level public servants are very important to the government. Thus, the paper is trying to find the relationship between the personality and job performance of middle-level public servants. as to provide the standard of selecting middle-level public servants.This paper is in the method of questionnaire. Personality measurement used the questionnaire that is made by McCrae and Costa. Doctor Meiyu Fang translated it into Chinese. The penman emended the public servants' job performance questionnaire that is made by the research team of civil servants' competence. The penman edited the questionnaire at the basic of the literature analysis , interview of public servants and questionnaire research. There are 3 factors which have 11 items in the job performance questionnaire. They are explored by the explore factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis.The research data are collected through surveys which are administered to 183 middle-level civil servants of Huainan city and Huaibei city in Anhui province and Shenyang city in Liaoning province. The results show that: neuroticism, extraversion and conscientiousness can forecast the task performance; extraversion and conscientiousness are the predictors of the job dedication.; extraversion, conscientiousness and agreeableness can forecast the interpersonal facilitation.; extraversion and conscientiousness are the most important predictors to job performance.
