Abstract/Summary:
With the globalization of economy and information, when the multi-national corporations employ the "global strategy", the organization structure evolves from the traditional value chain link to the interlaced network structure, and develops from the internal rational structure to the external interactive coordination. In order to explain the phenomenon, this thesis first builds the theory basis for network organization among companies, by integrating transaction cost theory of new system economics, co-operative theory of neo-classical economics, and the competency-based research. The cost theory of new system economics and the co-operative theory of neo-classical economics show that the motives of corporation coordination are reducing cost and maximizing profit, and the competency-based research states that the motives are pursuing the sustainable development and enhancing the core competency. So the three theories can together comprehensively explain the network organization in both static and dynamic sides. Then, by combining the theories with the examples, the thesis demonstrates that, because the network organization has the function of "organizing market",and extends the boundary of the individual corporation, the MNCs can achieve the cost saving, mutual resource complementing, and outside economical advantages by constructing the strategic alliance.
