Modern PMP provides a method to improve the quality of ISO9000 registration consulting activity.The reason why PMP can be applied in the ISO9000 registration consulting activity is that they share the common characters for the consulting activity can be regarded as a project. The first, the ISO9000 registration consulting activity has a clear goal, which not only help the company to pass the audit held by certificate body but also through the consultation and instruction activity to constitute a quality management system meet the requirements both of the customers and the organization itself, then they can improve the management level and product quality. The second, ISO9000 registration consulting activity has the unique and exclusive character which PMP has either, because of the difference industry, size, product and system that the client is, the project team must use irregular method to achieve mission, the team must have the creative inspirit to solve any problem they may meet; the third , ISO9000 registration consulting activity has very specific restrict of time and schedule, it is also the character of PMP 's project life cycle. The forth, to accomplish any project, there must be sufficient resources available, ISO9000 registration consulting activity needs the human resources , infrastructure and work environment. The PMP approach can be applied in the ISO9000 registration consulting activity through out the whole process from the startup to implementation and after services and the control of themselves. In the startup phase, the control activity includes the review of the project feasibility, contract signing, consultant team building. When the consulting company accept the submit of its client, it is necessary to make a careful review to the project feasibility, the main contents are: if the resources available now can meet any requirement of the client; if the consultant has the ability of this field; is there any conflict between the consultant and the client's arrangement; is there any special statutory and regulatory requirements exist in the client's industry; if client can meet all the statutory and regulatory requirements; how about the consulting risk and so on. After the feasibility is affirmed, signing the contract with client. The consultant team must be constituted of consultants who have high quality, strong ability and responsibility sense. The team leader must be senior consultant of consulting company with enough management experience, good communication skills and express skills. A team usually has 2-4 consultants, can be added or reduced by the size of client's company. The team must at least have an expert in the client's industry who is familiar with both the product and the production process.After the startup phase, there are mainly six phases the team will get through: on-site assessment; training of standard; identification of processes; compiling of quality documents; internal audit/ management review and on-site audit, the PDCA cycle approach is used in every phase respectively.
