Hancheng City, which lies in the northeast of Shaanxi Province, is one of the most famous cities for its history and culture in China. And the architectural frescoes during the Ming and Qing Dynasty in the city are really rare gems of this ancient city. The frescoes are obviously marked by the characteristics of the Chinese mainstream paintings. This essay provides the characteristics of the Chinese mainstream paintings through frescoes during the Ming and Qing Dynasty, and expounds the geographical environment, the main characteristics of the frescoes, the achievements in art, and how to adopt measures to protect the frescoes in the future as well. The writer intends to make people concerned understand the frescoes better. In this way, they can keep on studying the frescoes to discover the great art value of further study. Meanwhile, it's helpful to arouse people to realize the importance to protect the frescoes. So they may pay great attention to protecting the frescoes.
