A Research Into The Ethical Thoughts Of Song Yingxing

This paper conducts a systematic study on the ethic theories of Song Yingxing——a famous scientist of the Ming Dynasty. He had outstanding achievements after absorbing and improving in the politics, thoughts, cultures, sciences, etc. in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty. He then integrated his unique personal experiences and finally put forward new theories.Song Yingxing was a talent and generalist of that era and he held unique perspectives in various domains such as politics, technology, literature, education,etc. His theories were of significance to be understood and handed down. Most domestic studies, however, mainly focused on how his technological thoughts and practices contributed to the history of Chinese technological development, and majority of researches were carried out on"Tian Gong Kai Wu"and some studies also touched his thoughts on economy, demology and poetry. Little attention, however, were paid to his ethnic thoughts scattered through his works.This paper provides based on the total understanding on Song Yingxing's works in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, mainly adopts literature research methodology and dialectical analysis methodology. It firstly conducts a close study on the time, family background and personal experiences on which his ethic theories took shape. And then this paper researches his ethic thoughts from the perspectives of politics, education, technology, economy, ecology and etc. and finally makes some comments in terms of historical values, historical limitations and time values.This paper systematically analyses Song Yingxing's ethic theories on politics, education, technology, economy, ecology and etc., and draws a comprehensive conclusion on his thoughts on political ethics, educational ethics, technological ethics, economic ethics and ecological ethics. By this way, this paper makes a great contribution to emphasizing those elements such loyalty, duty, people's livelihood, science, truth and etc. for the purpose of better understanding of this great scientist, and also attempts to find those active factors about contemporary ethics from Song Yingxing's theories.
