The Language Art Research On Ba Ling Drama

Ba Ling Opera is a kind of a local large drama which is prevalent in the 38 counties or cities around the borders among Hunan Province, Hubei Province and Jiangxi Province. It is a top art of Chinese traditional opera and the heritage to the folk arts. It plays a very important role in all kinds of local large dramas in Hunan Province, even the whole China at large. It was confirmed as one of State-Level Intangible Cultural Conservation Projects.However, not quite a few studies on it have been done. If only there are some, they are only limited to music, art of singing. Rare previous studies are involved in libretto itself.The language of Ba Ling Opera is characterized by the language art beauty of traditional Chinese operas as well as the Ba Ling local dialect: popular, simple, clear, understandable, graceful and elegant. The language of Ba Ling Opera is fused by many factors: harmonious voice and rhyme, uniform rhyme and prosody, singing wonderfully with a silver voice and deep feeling; proper words use in proper places, mountains and mountains of idioms, vivid spoken English, popular and elegant; the fixity of seven-character octave and ten-character octave; flexible genres, sophisticate narration and lyrics. Besides, plenty of kinds of figures of speech and abundant class language means are used in Ba Ling Opera.
