Yu Yue is the famous scholar and educator of the years of Tongzhi and Guangxu.Known to "tireless written" and "ladder or beam student", Own the reputation of"have three thousands students, known by three hundreds states." At thesame time,as a scholar, his self-sustaining is limit his pace to popular, the eleganttendency is very clear in his popular art and literature, like novels and dramas and soon. This culture phenomenon of elegant mingle with popular reflecting thecontradiction of Yu Yue, it also reports the signs of change of later Qing’literary, it’sdeserved to depth investigate.The first chapter of this article is mainly talks about the poems and notes of YuYue, focused on the populous tendency phenomenon of these two orthodox literatureforms. Including the popularized of poem and its origins, the interesting to popular artand literature which reflected by his notes.Chapter two is the study of Yu Yue’s classical Chinese novel, the popular art andliterature such as novels, dramas, jugglings, riddles and jokes. Focused on theappearance of the mix of elegant and populous in classical Chinese novel and therefinement of popular art and literature.The Chapter three is the concluding chapter, it chief analysis the phenomenon ofthe mingle of refinement and populous in macroscopic, find what caused it. Andcompared this phenomenon with Yuan Mei, King Shengtan and Lin Shu, quest hisfeatures, and the influence in later Qing, even the new literary movement.
