The Research On Opera Of Jia Zhong-ming

Jia Zhongming is a famous dramatist and traditional opera theorist in the late of Yuan and earlier of Ming Dynasty."Sequel of the Record of Ghost Book"says,'most creatures are Folk-song-styled Poems among his works'. It also recorded 14 species of his Opera directory. In addition, Jia Zhongming in Wing Lok Si two decades made a continuation for Zhong Si's"Record of Ghost Book"and made memorial poems for 82 Yuan dramatist. However, as a long time span, Jia's many works are lost; together with his special status of"Yan islet"Scholars, the understanding of Jia's works remains to be further deepen. Based on this, by combing with his historical environment and related information, adopting the methods of comprehensive analysis and comparative studies, this paper mainly discuss the works of Jia Zhongming, and strive to make a further investigation of the epoch features which reflected from Jia's works.This paper is divided into four parts to analyze:The first part relates the life and writings of Jia Zhongming. Primarily through the relevant records of"Sequel of the Record of Ghost Book"and the description of the social conditions of the end of Yuan Dynasty and the earlier of Ming dynasty, it makes a rough outline of Jia's life . In addition, it also shows his writings and their spreads one by one.The second part analysis the main characters in Jia's love operas. By comparison, this part mainly reveals the characteristics of the images in Jia Zhongming's love stories. At the same time, it explains the formation of image characters by combination of historical environment features.The third part deeply concentrates on the phenomena of "emphasis on manpower light of God" in Jia's Immortal-taoism Operas. Mainly through script analysis and comparison, this part is tried to elaborate the performance of "emphasis on manpower Light Spirit" in Jia ZhongMing's Immortal-taoism Operas. In addition, by combing with Jia zhongMing's historical environment and his other works, this part explores the causes of the phenomena of "emphasis on manpower light of God" in his creatures.The fourth part expounds the theoretical concept of Jia Zhongming's opera, The theoretical study on the Jia zhongMing Opera mainly from the following three aspects: First of all, its emphasis on drama education function; The second, its concentration on opera lyrics, Guan Mu, temperament ; The third, its concerns of the living environment of dramas. During the discussion of this part, by combination of the development situation of opera theory in this period and the usage of Opera and Drama theory in creature, we finally could confirm the unique status of Jia Zhongming as the drama theorist.According to the discussion of the above four parts, this paper eventually reaches the following conclusion: Jia Zhongming is a well-known opera writer and theorist in the end of Yuan and earlier of Ming dynasty. Tightly close to the opera background, his works reflect the change of the creature of north dramas within this particular historical period, which have distinct characteristics of the times. Meanwhile, Jia's opera theory developed dramatically on the basis of the previous. In addition to the opera historical record, he began to evaluate the drama works from different detailed elements and made concentrate on the dramas'living environment concerns.
