The Chinese government has restored tuition-free policy for normal university student since 2007, and the free normal students came to the stage of Chinese history once again. The study found that social support and subjective well-being are closely related to the mental health. Free normal students'social support and subjective well-being not only affect their physical and mental health, but also adversely affect implementation of tuition-free policy for normal university student and development of Chinese education.Because Chinese government restored tuition-free policy for normal university student only three years ago, the domestic research for free normal students' social support and subjective well-being is still in the initial stage. This study will be able to understand the status of the free normal students'social support and subjective well-being,the relationship between them, the relationship between the free normal students'demographic variables and their social support, subjective well-being. This study will lay the foundation of the further research.This study adopts emotional scale made by Diener, social support rating scale made by Xiao Shuiyuan, and the scale of personal demographic questionnaire made by myself. During the December in 2009 to the January in 2010, this study adopts Fei-Qiu, QQ and Email that are tools students in Southwest University use frequently to make survey to the free normal students. This study gets 231 effective questionnaires, and analyzes them with SPSS 17.0. The results showed that:First, the free normal students'demographic variables have a certain impact on their social support. Sex variables affect the utilization of social support significantly. The non-child and child free normal students'objective support and social support are significantly different.Second, the free normal students'demographic variables affect their SWB weakly.We only found that cost of living is positive correlated to the overall life satisfaction. In multiple comparisons, we also found that the free normal students that their cost of living is less than 400 are significantly different to the the free normal students that their cost of living is 400-800.Third, the free normal students'subjective well-being and its dimensions for different levels of social support are significantly different. The free normal students' social support has a strong predictor on their subjective well-being.Fourth, the free normal students'social support and its subjective support dimension are different significantly. The free normal students'subjective well-being has a predictor on their social support.Fifth, the free normal students'social support are widely related to their subjective well-being significantly. And in control of the demographic variables,they are still significantly correlated. Subjective support, positive emotion and negative emotion play an important role in correlation between social support and subjective well-being.Sixth, the free normal students'subjective support of social support affects the subjective well-being significantly.The free normal students'subjective support has a strong predictor on their SWB.Seventh, the free normal students'positive emotion and negative emotion of subjective well-being affect their social support significantly. positive emotion and negative emotion have a stronger predictor on social support. |
