| In the course of cultivating high quality workers and technical talents, English teaching plays an important role in helping students improve their career development. It is even helpful for students' further study and development in the future. However, under the guidance of job-oriented secondary vocational curriculum reform, traditional English teaching system can not meet the need of present teaching environment for its content, organization of class and so on, which makes secondary vocational English teaching in trouble.This paper analyzes the limitation and insufficiency of English classroom teaching in Shanghai Dazhong Technical School from the aspect of English teaching objectives, English learners, teaching content, teaching procedure and the quality of English teachers. Then it puts forward the strategies and approaches, which includes changing the idea of English teaching in vocational school, paying more attention to cultivate the vocational students' non-intelligent factors in English learning, optimizing the English teaching design and improving the English teachers' research ability in classroom teaching. This thesis includes five chapters.The first chapter emphasizes the importance and necessity of this research topic by describing the research methods as well as its background and aim.The second chapter introduces the literature review of English classroom teaching in vocational schools in domestic and foreign countries.Chapter Three analyzes the limitation and insufficiency of English class teaching in Shanghai Dazhong Technical School.Chapter Four puts forward the strategies and approaches that will improve the English teaching quality in Secondary Vocational Schools based on the experiment made in Shanghai Dazhong Technical School.Chapter Five is the last part of the paper which presents the reflections and conclusions. |
