Xuling is the typical representative of communications between ambassadors during the Southern and Northern Dynasty. The article is trying to conduct a detailed research into his social communication around the country, and make a fundamental discussion over the influence of social communication on the creation of literature on the basis of the systematic analyses of his creation of poetry. What is to be illustrated is that, apart from members of his family and clan, the people involved in the social communication of Xuling are referring to all who have contacts with Xuling, including members of the royal family, colleagues, friends as well as Buddhist abbots. The full text is divided into three parts: The first part will be divided into three stages connecting Xulin's poetry and experiences with the times he lived in, and bringing out the profile of his poetry. The second part introduces Xuling's social communications with other people in the South and in the North respectively: First his social communications with the emperor and other officials when he was in the South, and then his travels in the North, the positive contacts with local officials, as well as their communications through the exchange of correspondence after his return to the Southern Liang. The third part is to explore the impact of Xulin's travels around China and social communications on his literary creation, that is, his travels around China and social communications contributed to a variety of genres of his works, and subject matters were extended; Xuling's travels and social communications changed his style of writing: from earlier pursuing beautiful words, placing too much emphasis on styles to later placing emphases on the contents of literary creation.
