The relationship between documentary and film and television media is so close that a new form of documentary with fundamental significance has emerged on the platform of computerized media such as Internet, mobile phone and tablet computer. The possibility for audiences to interact with documentaries in various ways is at the heart of the distinctiveness of these new formats;Viewers can participate in various practices, such as free retrieval in a virtual environment, selecting video content from a database, participating in "chat" sessions and creating content. In theory, these new audience practices raise questions about authorship and the social impact of documentaries. This paper analyzes the micro-documentary in the context of Internet from the social perspective. This paper suggests that it is necessary to distinguish between user behavior that affects micro-documentary text and users' ability to interact with others through documentaries. The concept of social "voice" in micro-documentaries is inquired to reveal two different aspects: the voice as the author and the voice as the social participation. This paper intends to make use of academic research on micro-documentary and digital media, refer to a series of examples of online micro-documentary,and discuss the social function and artistic value of micro-documentary based on the creation process of my own works.
