Although its value was pale by comparison with the poem of Tang and Song Dynasty, the poem of Ming Dynasty had made a great development in thought, and to a certain extent, was the time of thought summarization of the poem. During this period there was a violent dissension around the pattern, leitmotiv, even the society function of poem, with the representation of Return to the ancient or No, Although they did not get an uniform opinion, they showed the whole development line of poem , and made the whole poem development image more clear.In history background like this , especially in the rule of the poem opinion of Return to the Ancients in the beginning and mid time of Ming Dynasty, YanSong's poem didn't show or incline towards any of the poem, but developed it's own poem characters of clear and mildness by extracting the merits of them. Having superior status but not proud, poem in the conflicting but keeping itself level, he became a wisp of clear sunshine in the mid and late time of Ming Dynasty's Parnassus.This dissertation, aiming at the value of YanSong' s poem, firstly starts with his lifetime and its influence to his poem, analysing the influence to the poem of each stage in details by dividing his life into five stages as Study for Official, Retreat from Official, At Official and Fall out of Power. Next, according to the content and characters, divides YanSong' s poem into five kinds as Emotional poem of Depicting Scenery, Emotional Poem of Intoning History, Emotional Poem of Affairs, Presenting Poem to Friends and Official Poem about Regius and points out each art characters. Thirdly, on the basis of great filtrating, appreciates the poem by three main special characters and realises the attraction of the poem with the readers together, then on the basis of appreciating, analyses the reasons of the forming of YanSong's poem's characters. At last, summarize the influence of YanSong's poem in the poem history combining with the opinions of scholars in history.
