Hai Shang Hua Lie Zhuan is the representative works of Wu dialect of Qing Dynasty.It was recognized as the best one of the "Prostitutes novel" in that period of time.However because of the use of Wu dialect,many readers who are not born in Wu region cannot understand the novel at all.Its great length and special Su dialect and also the large numbers of vivid dialect words,all have rich research value.In the past, people put more attention on its value on literature,but ignored its value on Modern Chinese corpus.This article chooses a large number of words of the Wu dialect,and uses the critical methods to explain their meaning,as dictionaries codification provided a wealth of material,the current large-scale correction of the errors of the lexicography,so as to show the "live fossil" of the dialect.In short,the thesis use the method of comparative study of history,combined with modern Wu dialect,from the perspective of Chinese history,describing some of the characteristics of Wu dialect vocabulary,and clarify a number of dialect words in context of the language history,so as to rich the vocabulary of modern Chinese research.
